Vote for Us Please! Tesco’s #BagsofHelp

We are very aware we have been quiet on the parks front, but work has been going on behind the scenes  ;0)

We are beyond pleased to have been shortlisted by Tesco’s Bags of Help, to receive funding to start work at Laundry Lane, but we need your help!

The decision about how much we receive comes down to you, the public!

There is a 2 week voting window, starting on Monday 26 September, until Sunday 2 October 2016 at the following stores:

Tesco Extra, Blue Boar Lane, Sprowston

Tesco Superstore, Fakenham Road, Drayton

No minimum spend required, just remember to ask the cashier for your token and pop it in the box marked Friends of Thorpe St Andrew Parks!

As a minimum, the £8000 will enable us to extend the boundaries to increase the play area, work on the unsightly fence, relocate existing equipment to fit with the new plans and plant wild flower borders around the planned running track.

We are really hopeful that the local community will vote for us; with increased funds (£12000) we will also be able to install new play equipment, which is desperately needed to update the current provision.

We have some fantastic plans designed by wonderful architect, Lara Hall and are very excited that we can start work on implementing them.  As a public park, Laundry Lane is already well used for its sports facilities and it’s great that the changes will benefit everyone within the community who visits.

So please, use your vote and tell your friends and family, in fact, anyone who will listen!!

The supermarket has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative, which see grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to environmental and greenspace projects.
